Ear flop Wascal's favorite corner

I vant to be alone, dahling.

The most active times for a rabbit are in the early morning and early evening (dawn and twilight), and we can and do sleep in both the daytime and nighttime.  In technical terms it's called being crepuscular; and in non-technical terms it means that we're one of the best pets for people who work during the day and sleep at night.  We're awake when you are in the morning so you can feed us breakfast at the same time you eat breakfast; then we sleep all day while you're off at work.  We come to life again in the evening when you get home so we can have dinner when you do; then we let you get your beauty sleep at night.  Not too bad, huh!  Of course, this could cause a small problem on Saturday and Sunday morning when you want to sleep in but we want our breakfast.  Oh, well, we're not perfect.

We rabbits like our private time just like you humans do.  We especially like our private time to be spent in corners and tight places.  It comes from our heritage, you know.  Out in the wilds we dig burrows in the ground with tunnels connecting the living spaces ... nice tight tunnels that only our bodies can fit through and keep out those larger animals, like predators that want to have us for lunch or dinner.   Even though we know that our human owners aren't going to eat us, we still need our tight places to hide once in awhile ... just to get away from the world on occasion.
