The
first time I stood stock still, then
flopped myself over on my side and closed
my eyes like in this picture, my human
mom had a panic attack. "Oh, no! She's
dead!," my mom thought as she came over
to me immediately to check for breathing. Well,
of course I was okay and woke up startled.
A
couple of weeks later my mom took me
to see my doctor veterinarian because
it was time for my annual checkup. While
we were there, my mom asked the doctor
about me laying on my side. She,
of course, expressed concern while she
was telling my doctor this. My
doctor veterinarian chuckled and patted
my mom on the shoulder. My mom
knew that he wasn't laughing at her,
so she smiled and asked, "What's so funny?" He
chuckled a little more and said, "The
fact that Wascal sleeps that way means
that you're a good bunny mommy." "Huh?" my
mom asked. My doctor veterinarian
explained patiently to her that only
rabbits who are secure and feel safe
will spread out and expose themselves
that way, especially when they're asleep
and the most vulnerable. The fact
that my mom had given me a secure environment
with a lot of love to live in meant that
I felt safe enough to get comfortable
and spread out that way.
Other
weird stuff ...
Sometimes
when I sleep I like to scrunch my head
against something solid, like the corner
of my mom's desk. I know why I
do it (I think!), but no human has ever
been able to explain it.
I
like to clean house. For instance,
when I lay under my mom's desk, I like
to lick the dust off the spokes and wheels
of my mom's desk chair. They're
quite spotlessly clean, if I do say so
myself. You could almost say they're "spit
shined"! My mom thinks I'm weird when
I do that. |

No,
I'm not dead! Will you chill out please!! |

Yes,
I am the same color as the carpet. I
have a little bit more white on me than the
carpet, however. That's how mom can find
me. Otherwise I'd just blend in to the
decor. |
